Responsible for the festival is the association “LINZ FMR – Art in digital contexts and public spaces”. Representatives of the two free and independent art and cultural initiatives qujOchÖ and servus.at, the Atelierhaus Salzamt of the City of Linz, the University of Art and Design Linz and the Linz-based STURM UND DRANG GALERIE are involved in the conception, organization and curating of the festival.

qujOchÖ is an art collective founded in Linz in 2001. It operates at the interfaces of art, society and science; it is diverse, heterogeneous, untaggable and completely undisciplined, it uses everything and nothing, it shows, installs, intervenes, noises, builds, discusses and connects and does everything out of love and conviction. qujOchOE.org
servus.at is a net culture initiative in Linz. As an association, it operates an independent cultural data centre and is connected to the worldwide network via the ACOnet. Its members include artists and cultural practitioners, alternative educational institutions, free radios, university institutions and NGOs. servus.at promotes the use of free open source software, researches phenomena of digital culture, illuminates sociopolitical implications in dealing with technology and deals with the central themes of the information society. core.servus.at
The Atelierhaus Salzamt is a cultural institution of the city of Linz in a central location by the Danube. It offers living and working studios for international and regional artists, an exhibition and event hall with ongoing exhibitions, international artistic exchange and art mediation through artist talks and studio visits. linz.at/kultur/salzamt.asp
The University of Art and Design Linz (Kunstuniversität Linz)
has its institutional and programmatic roots in the “Kunstschule” (Art School) of the City of Linz, which was founded in 1947, assigned academy status in 1973 and finally made a fully-fledged university in 1998. The institution was conceived as an explicit statement to signify dissociation from the previous art policy of the National Socialist era. This is in particular exemplified by its emphasis on the fundamental values of freedom of art and research, its commitment to modernism and contemporary art and the positioning of the University at the interface of free-artistic and applied-economically oriented design. In the past as in the present, these values form the basis of the fundamental essence and identity of Kunstuniversität Linz. In the context of the regional and international frame conditions within which Kunstuniversität Linz operates, three main orientations were evolved over the past few years. Going beyond specialist competencies per se, they are of particular importance for artistic development, research and teaching and moreover reflect the unique profile of the University: Intermediality, Space Strategies and Artistic-Scientific Research. ufg.at
The STURM UND DRANG GALERIE is a contemporary gallery founded in 2014 and located in the heart of the Old Town of Linz. Within a short time it established itself as a meeting place for the young art scene of the city. The STURM UND DRANG GALERIE creates space for informal exchange with the public interested in art, is dedicated to the promotion of selected emerging artists and accompanies them throughout their careers. In addition to exhibitions, the gallery space is also used for performances, readings, media art, installations and concerts. sturm-drang.at
